Mary Keller Boyd papers, 1928-1952.

Letters, reports, receipts, and certificates documenting Boyd's role in organization, 1924, and leadership of the Richland County Medical Auxiliary to the South Carolina Medical Association; papers document her service as treasurer of the Sims Memorial Committee, organized to help complete marker on grounds of the South Carolina State House to honor gynecological pioneer Dr. James Marion Sims, which was unveiled 10 May 1929. Also documenting Boyd's service as chair, 1934-1935, of the Auxiliary's student loan fund, and her involvement as a volunteer immediately prior to and during World War II on behalf of such organizations as the Columbia Committee of the American Friends of France, the USO, the South Carolina State War Fund Campaign, Richland County War Finance Committee, the American Red Cross, and American Aid to France. Items of special interest include letters from James Henry Rice, 1929; and Soeur [Sister] St. Crepin, Superieure of the Asile Maritime et Maternite at Berck-Plage, France, 1947; and bill and receipt, 1929, from New York sculptor Edmond T. Quinn.
